GANNON'S DZIOMBA AND RADWAN
NAMED TO ALL-GLIAC BASEBALL TEAM

ERIE, Pa. - Gannon’s Jonathan Dziomba (Williamsville, N.Y./St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute) and Greg Radwan (Farnham, N.Y./St. Francis) have been named to the 2008 All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) honorable-mention baseball team released Thursday evening in conjunction with the league’s post-season tournament at Dow Diamond in Midland, Michigan.

Dziomba led Gannon in average (.342), at-bats (152), runs (33), hits (52), triples (5), home runs (6), RBI (38), total bases (89), slugging percentage (.586), and stolen bases (14). The junior shortstop led the GLIAC in triples while ranking eighth in total bases and ninth in stolen bases. He hit .396 (36-91) with runners on base and .390 (23-59) with runners in scoring position.

The Williamsville, N.Y., native led Gannon in multiple-hit games (16) and multiple-RBI games (11). He had two six-game hitting streaks and two five-game hitting streaks during the season.

Radwan was a dual threat with success at the plate and on the mound. The sophomore hit .312 with a .404 slugging percentage and .377 on-base percentage while serving as a third baseman and designated hitter. He recorded 22 runs, 10 doubles, 26 RBI, and 57 total bases.

The Farnham, N.Y., native hit .362 (25-69) with runners on base and .339 (19-56) with runners in scoring position. He had 12 multiple-hit games and six multiple-RBI games. His two-out, bases-loaded single drove in Gannon’s winning run during a ninth-inning victory April 16 against Findlay.

On the mound, Radwan was 3-5 in eight starts. He posted Gannon’s second-lowest ERA while logging the third-most innings (53). Radwan recorded five complete games, one shutout, and 40 strikeouts.
