GANNON BASEBALL FALLS TO
HILLSDALE COLLEGE

GAME TWO SUSPENDED IN THIRD; WILL RESUME SUNDAY AT 10 A.M.
 
ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon University baseball team dropped the first game of a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheader 8-2 to Hillsdale College Saturday afternoon at Gannon University Field.
   
The second game was suspended in the third inning due to rain and will resume at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 4. Hillsdale (15-28, 8-17) currently leads game two 3-0.     
   
Sunday’s regularly scheduled doubleheader will begin at noon. The twinbill marks Gannon’s final two games of the regular season.
   
In game one, Gannon (7-34, 3-26) scored its runs in the sixth inning.
   
Jonathan Dziomba (Williamsville, N.Y./St. Joe’s Collegiate) tripled to left center, driving in Jim Travers (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep). Dziomba then scored on a single up the middle by Greg Radwan (Farnham, N.Y./St. Francis) in the next at-bat.
   
Eric Harpster (Erie, Pa./McDowell) contributed a triple in game one. Harpster went 2 for 4.
   
Sunday is Senior Day. John Pichette (Horseheads, N.Y./Elmira-Notre Dame), Chris Miller (Franklin, Pa./Franklin) and Blake Nusbaum (Williamsville, N.Y./Sweet Home) will be honored for their service to the Gannon baseball team.
