Office 2007 Upgrade

The upgrade to Office 2007 has begun. ITS has tested the deployment with several departments and is now ready to begin the conversion to all University owned computers. We are expecting the conversion to be completed by the end of the Fall 2009 semester.

Upgrade to Office 2007 Options

We are working with program and department directors and managers to coordinate the upgrade.  Please consider the scenario that best fit your area. When your department is ready contact us or we will contact you in the upcoming months to make arrangements.

Upgrade scenarios:

1.)    We are ready, no training; just upgrade us!  Program directors should just contact the Help Desk and let us know that you just want to be upgraded and do not need training. We will schedule your upgrade.

2.)    We are ready, but we need training.  – Again directors just need to contact the Help Desk and we can schedule your department for training.

3.)    We are not ready yet. – That’s fine. It is going to take us a while to upgrade the whole University. We are expecting to be done by the end of the Fall semester so you have some time to prepare. Let us know how we can help.

**Contact the Help Desk at 7501 to make arrangements**

We will generally be conducting classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at either 9:00am or 1:30pm. If required, we can make adjustments to help accommodate your schedule. Our calendar is available in Outlook under Public Folders...All Public Folders…Office 2007.

Training and Resources

MS Office Upgrade Training

We have developed a class to help you prepare for the upgrade. It lasts about an hour and a half and focuses specifically on the changes between Office 2003 and 2007. It does not go into details on using individual features in Office.

MS Office Help

The Help features built into Office have become very intuitive and useful. It is a great 1st resource for learning to use a feature in Office.  It also uses content online at Microsoft.

MS Office Online

In addition to the Help features, MS Office Online provides tutorials, templates, Clipart, and many other resources. Check it out at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx
