IT Code of Conduct

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is it necessary to review the IT Code, especially if we’ve done it in the past?

§  At the recommendation of our auditors, the Technology Advisory Committee now requires that everyone stay abreast of the provisions of The Code of Conduct for the use of Information Technology at Gannon University by reviewing and accepting the policy every fiscal year.

Who has to review and accept the IT Code of Conduct?

§  ALL students, faculty and staff, even those that accepted the policy in the past.  The only exceptions are those individuals that accepted the policy since July 1, 2009; these individuals do not have to accept it again.

How can I accept the IT Code of Conduct?

§  Simply log into the MyGannon web portal at my.gannon.edu, enter your NetworkID and password and you will be automatically brought to the IT Code of Conduct acceptance page.  Once you’ve accepted it, you’ll be brought to the portal main page.

§  Go to www.gannon.edu/code, follow the log-in instructions carefully, review the policy and select “Click Here to ACCEPT” at the bottom.

What happens if I don’t accept it?

§  At the start of the Spring semester, your NetworkID will be disabled.

What happens if my NetworkID gets disabled?

§  You will no longer be able to access any Gannon networks or systems (email, Angel, MyGannon, GUXpress, lab PCs, network storage space, dial-in, etc.)

How can I get my NetworkID re-enabled?

§  Call the ITS Help Desk at ext. 7501 to have your NetworkID temporarily re-enabled.  This will become permanent once you have accepted the IT Code of Conduct.
