What You'll Be Doing

Student in Nash library Gannon University believes in providing life-long learners with a well-rounded education. By providing exposure to languages and literature, history, philosophy, theology and the social sciences, Gannon’s liberal arts program helps you draw from a wide range of disciplines to prepare you for your career choice. As a liberal arts major, you will also be equipped with administrative skills (researching, organizing, analyzing, planning, creating, decision making, and speaking and writing proficiency) that are necessary to compete in the job market.

Students who receive a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts can pursue graduate degrees in programs such as guidance and counseling, business administration, English, history or law. Those who enter the workforce upon graduation find employment in a vast array of fields, including the insurance industry, corporate communications, journalism and marketing.

 

College Connections

• Gannon liberal arts students can take advantage of the cooperative education program to gain professional work experience. Depending on the student’s career objectives, various co-ops and internships are available with advertising and marketing agencies, insurance companies, law firms, health organizations, media organizations and nonprofit social organizations.

Curriculum and Course Descriptions
Major Facts

    • Either a four-year bachelor's degree or two-year associate's degree can be earned.

    • Gannon students in the liberal arts program work closely with the program director in designing an individualized course of study. In addition, all students are encouraged to complete a minor related to their career interests.

    • Gannon students can pursue their degree in a variety of concentrations, including communication arts, criminal justice, English, fine arts, foreign language, history, philosophy, political science, psychology, social work, theatre and communication arts, and theology.
