Posted: September 6, 2013Erie, Pa. - Gannon University received a $12,500 gift from
Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield to support its Annual Fund for
Academic Excellence and the Gannon University Alumni Legacy
Scholarship. Both initiatives provide students with scholarship
support.
Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield's senior community affairs
specialist Neil Parham and senior client manager John Vanerstrom
presented Gannon President Keith Taylor, Ph.D., with a check on
Aug. 7.
"At Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, we're proud of our
longstanding history of supporting education in the communities we
serve," Parham said.
Thanks to the support of corporations like Highmark Blue Cross
Blue Shield, 97 percent of students at Gannon received scholarship
awards and financial aid in the 2012-13 academic year. Also, 46
percent of Gannon students are the first generation in their
