Golden Joins Gannon’s New Division Of Student Development And Engagement
Posted: May 24, 2013Gannon University has announced the appointment of Denise R.
Golden as director, residence life. In this capacity, she
will provide the vision and leadership for innovative programming,
policies and practices that promote student engagement, development
and retention.
Golden joins Gannon from Texas A&M University-Commerce,
where she had worked in the university's residential living and
learning program for four years, most recently as associate
director. She had previously been a residence education
coordinator at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte for
five years.
At Gannon, she will have the opportunity to develop a residence
life program that extends the University's new strategic plan and
the goals of a newly formed division of student development and
engagement. The program will emphasize holistic spiritual
development, globalization, service, leadership and student
wellness.
Golden received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from
Coastal Carolina University, and her Master of Education degree in
higher education and student personnel services from the University
of South Carolina. She is currently enrolled in Doctor of
Higher Education degree program in educational administration at
Texas A&M University-Commerce.
She is a member of the National Association of Student Affairs
Administrators in Higher Education and the Association of College
& University Housing Officers International's Women in Housing
Education subcommittee.
