Posted: February 26, 2013
A recent Gannon University graduate appeared on ABC’s popular morning show Good Morning America.
Julie Kleber, who graduated from Gannon in May, 2011, with a bachelor of science in nursing degree, appeared on the show during a welcome-back tribute to Robin Roberts, GMA’s anchor. After being diagnosed in 2012 with myelodysplastic syndrome, Roberts took a leave for a bone marrow transplant. She returned to GMA on Feb. 20.
Kleber (far right in photo) is now a staff nurse in the Bone Marrow Unit of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and was one of the nurses who treated Roberts (third from left). Kleber and the other nurses gathered at ABC studios for the broadcast.
Kleber is from Suffern, N.Y., and graduated from Suffern High School. At Gannon, she was a member of the women’s basketball team and led the Lady Knights in scoring as a senior during the 2010-11 season.
WJET-24, Erie’s ABC affiliate, had a story on Kleber’s appearance on GMA. Watch the WJET clip here: http://yourerie.com/fulltext/?nxd_id=286422
