Gannon University Welcomes Students and
Families to Spring Open House April 21

High school students and their families are invited to Gannon
University's Open House this Saturday, April 21.
When they arrive at Open House, they will see a campus in
transformation. There is much that is new on the Gannon campus,
including the newly renovated Nash Library, expanded Recreation and
Wellness Center, the gleaming Center for Business Ingenuity, the
Center for Communication and the Arts, Beyer Hall and the Forensic
Investigation Center. All are among the recently opened or
renovated exceptional learning environments that students and
families can tour at Open House.
Open House formally kicks off inside the Hammermill Center with
a welcome from Gannon University President Keith Taylor, Ph.D.
Following this, prospective students and families will have an
opportunity to visit a student engagement and resource fair or
attend an information session, as well as explore innovative
academic programs through demonstrations and presentations led by
Gannon students and faculty.
Engineering and computer science students in Zurn Science Center
will showcase and fly student-built drones, as well as unveil an
augmented reality sandbox designed and built by Gannon students
that brings topography to life in real-time through augmented
elevation color-mapping topographic contour lines and simulated
water using an Xbox 360. Similar robotics, innovative technology
and research-focused presentations will greet visitors to Gannon's
Centers for Advanced Engineering and Business Ingenuity.
In the Morosky Academic Center, laboratories will be open for
demonstrations and tours, and live scenarios replicating those
found in actual healthcare facilities will take place in Gannon's
high-tech Patient Simulation Center.
At the beautiful new Recreation and Wellness Center, students
can experience live testing using the cutting-edge equipment in the
Human Performance Laboratory.
Learn more about the new Public Service and Global Affairs
program while witnessing a mock trial with student actors as the
courtroom and jury representatives. Students interested in a career
in the expanding criminal justice fields can experience
demonstrations using the firearms training simulator and
fingerprinting lab at the Forensic Investigation Center, while the
Palumbo Academic Center and Center for Communications and the Arts
will host multimedia and interactive activities in both
