Gannon University Welcomes Lil’ Sibs to Campus

Exotic animals.

Card tricks.

It’s all happening on the campus of Gannon University during Lil’ Sib's Weekend, February 9-11.

The annual event is a chance for current Gannon students to connect with their younger brothers and sisters during a weekend of fun activities— and for prospective future Golden Knights to experience what it’s like to be a part of the Gannon family.

“It’s really important because when you’re away at college you don’t get to see your family as often as you might like,” said Adriana Molnar, a first-year occupational therapy student from Cleveland, Ohio, and part of the Activities Programming Board (APB) planning the event. “It shows Gannon cares about their students and their family relationships.”

The weekend gets underway on Friday, Feb. 9 with a welcoming dinner and the movie “Wonder,” followed by a breakfast catered by Panera Bread on Saturday, Feb. 10. Other Saturday fun includes a stuffed animal station in which kids will be able to pick out a stuffed animal and stuff it themselves; a performance by magician and illusionist Rick Smith Jr.; and a presentation of exotic animals by Jeff Musial, also known as The Animal Guy.

“It’s really exciting,” Molnar said. “He’ll even let the kids touch them after the presentation, which is pretty cool.”

The weekend wraps up Sunday with a pancake breakfast, movie and Mass in the Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel.

Interested students must pre-register for the event by filling out registration forms that will be available in residence halls and at the front desk of the Waldron Campus Center.
