Gannon University Welcomes Families to Campus for Family Weekend

Posted: September 22, 2017

Gannon University's annual Family Weekend will be held Sept. 22-24.

Gannon University strives to make our campus a home away from home for our students. Each fall, we invite family members to make it theirs, too, for a weekend of fun activities in a setting that brings students and their families together to share the special experience of being a Golden Knight.

This year, the event's planners have introduced new features to the student-planned event, including pirate cruises on Lake Erie, tickets to the Erie Zoo and families battling each other in the television game show- inspired Campus Feud.

A highlight is a performance by Danger Circus, a three-man company that features fire eating, glass walking, knife juggling, dangerous escapes and comedy.

So "I wanted to bring some new ideas to this year's Family Weekend," said Jolene Sinclair, the student family chairwoman for Gannon's Activities Programming Board, which organizes and staffs the weekend's events. Sinclair was inspired by her own family's experience at last year's event. "We had a great time when my parents came up. It was the first time they'd seen me after they dropped me off in August. We had a blast."

Tickets for the event are $25 and can be purchased online at More information is available at or by calling 814.871.7766.
