Gannon University Hosts Regional Summer School of Excellence

Posted: July 10, 2017

During the first two weeks of July, more than 30 high school students from the tri-state area will attend Gannon University's Regional Summer School of Excellence

Over the course of 10 days, the students will be engaged in the study of the Lake Erie ecosystem, the management of coastal zone resources and be challenged to tackle concerns such as invasive species, bluff erosion, public access, water quality and health of the ecosystem. The students work alongside Gannon University faculty members and other area experts aboard Gannon's research vessel, Environaut, collecting samples and testing them in a one-of-kind laboratory experience.

At the selective summer camp, which has been provided free of charge for 30 years, high school students will explore the diversity of science and health-related careers related to the biological sciences.
