Gannon University To Host Annual International Night March 18

More than 450 people are expected to travel the world without leaving the Gannon University campus at the annual International Night event Saturday, March 18.

The event, "Snapshot of the World," with food, dazzling entertainment and fun, will be held in the University's Hammermill Center, 620 Peach St.

International Night is designed to celebrate the cultural diversity of Gannon and the surrounding community. In the current Academic Year, 674 students from 43 nations are enrolled at Gannon University, 16 percent of total enrollment.

The evening will begin with a buffet dinner at 6 p.m. featuring food from the culinary traditions of more than 20 nations, including Greece, Honduras, India, Libya, Nepal, the Philippines, Poland, Saudi Arabia and Ukraine.

Entertainment and cultural performances, including Indian, Philippine and Polish folk dancing, and Mongolian horsehead fiddling from Gannon student Tenger Batjargal are scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

Tickets are $14 for adults, $9 for college students with valid ID and $7 for children ages 6 and older. Children under 6 are free. Tickets can be purchased at and will not be available at the door.

Students, faculty, staff and community members help to organize and participate in the event, which is hosted by Office of Global Support and Student Engagement and Global Unity at Gannon University (GU2).
