Gannon Professor Named Distinguished Fellow

 Michael J. Messina, Ph.D., Professor of marketing and director of graduate programs in the Dahlkemper School of Business at Gannon University, was honored as a Distinguished Fellow, at the 2016 Marketing Management Association Conference in Chicago.

Messina received the honor for his nearly two decades of service to the Marketing Management Association (MMA). He currently serves on the organization's board of directors and as associate editor of the Marketing Management Journal, a forum for the sharing of academic, theoretical and practical research that may impact the development of the marketing management discipline.

He has also served as a judge for MMA Hormel Master Teacher Competition, held concurrently with the MMA Fall Educators Conference to recognize outstanding marketing educators of the year. He has presented a number of papers at MMA conferences and proceedings, including two that won Best Paper awards, served on panels as a track and session chair, and participated as a discussant at many sessions over the years. Messina recently co-authored, along with fellow contributors, "Reflections on Life in Higher Education," published by Palgrave Macmillian in 2016.
