It's a Family Affair As Gannon University Hosts Lil' Sibs Weekend

Posted: February 10, 2017

As great as college life can be, on-campus students naturally miss their families, especially little sisters and brothers.  This weekend those siblings can share the fun and adventure of campus life at Gannon University' Lil' Sibs Weekend.

The annual event brings Gannon students' younger siblings to campus for a taste of what it's like to be a member of the Gannon community.

Lil' Sibs weekend gets underway on Friday, Feb. 10 with a welcoming party complete with pizza, crafts and a photo booth, and a screening at the A.J. Palumbo Academic Center of "Finding Dory," the 2016 hit motion picture from Pixar Animation Studios.

Saturday brings a full day of fun events for students and their little siblings, starting with a pancake breakfast from 10 a.m. 12 p.m. and a caricature artist who will draw awkward-and hopefully hilarious, family portraits.

Younger siblings and Gannon students alike can board shuttle buses for an afternoon outing to to Splash Lagoon indoor water park.  The day will conclude with performances in Room 104 of Zurn Hall by magician Michael Kent and comedian Jonathan Burns from 7-9 p.m.

Sunday, activities include an encore showing of "Finding Dory," and the weekend will close with Gannon spirit brunch.  It's a great way to cap off three days of being a Knight.
