Posted: July 28, 2016

Marquette Savings Bank has donated an additional $46,000 in annual awards and a "Power" Scholarship to Gannon University. The corporate gift will help fund both the Marquette Savings Bank Annual Scholarship as well as establish the Marquette Savings Bank Endowed "Power" Scholarship, which will be matched by Gannon under the provisions of the "Power" Scholarship Challenge. The Marquette gift will benefit students from Crawford and Erie Counties.

"Marquette established an endowment with Gannon in 2010. We have also been an annual contributor to the scholarship fund for 20 years," said Michael Edwards, CEO, Marquette Savings Bank. "The 'Power' Scholarship Challenge has enabled us to literally double the impact of our gift for financially deserving students in both Erie and Crawford counties."

The Marquette Savings Bank Endowed "Power" Scholarship is among the 246 endowed scholarships at Gannon providing more than $1.3 million in scholarship support annually to 413 deserving students from diverse locations, backgrounds and financial circumstances. Ninety-four percent of undergraduate students at Gannon University received financial aid in the 2014-15 academic year. Endowed gifts to Gannon can also help fund faculty professional development, student and faculty research, speaker series, study abroad programs, mission trips, academic departments, athletics or the library.
