Posted: April 19, 2016

Navigating the Leadership Journey is the theme of the ninth annual Women In Leadership Development (WILD) Conference on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Ambassador Banquet and Conference Center.

The conference is hosted by the Small Business Development Center at Gannon University (SBDC). WILD is expected to draw women from the western Pennsylvania region for a day of inspiration, motivation, networking and professional development.

Keynote speaker for the conference will be Natalia Olson-Urtecho, regional administrator for the U.S. Small Business Administration. Olson-Urtecho has years of experience in both entrepreneurship and executive leadership.
Breakout sessions will be offered in three tracks: women business owner/entrepreneur, executive leadership and rising leaders. The breakout sessions will consist of workshops, seminars and panel discussions by distinguished regional community leaders. Donations will be taken to benefit the Gannon University WILD Power Scholarship Fund.

The Legacy Award Recipient will be given to the late Melanie Johnson for personal and professional contributions at the local, regional and statewide level. The award will be accepted by Johnson's husband, attorney Wayne Johnson, Jr., and her children.

The mission of the Women in Leadership Development Conference is to empower professional and enterprising women with knowledge, energy and passion. WILD, founded in 2008 by the SBDC at Gannon University, is a celebration that recognizes, supports and promotes women in business through women helping women. This concept of connectivity is achieved by encouraging networking, providing leadership opportunities and supporting each other. For more information on the WILD Conference, click here.
