Gannon University Announces Executive Director of Retention and Success

Gannon University announced the appointment of Kimberly A. Harvey to the newly created position of executive director of retention and student success.

In this capacity, she will lead the implementation of the University's retention plan and oversee the coordinated efforts of the University community to increase the retention and success of students at Gannon's campuses in Erie, Pennsylvania and Ruskin, Florida.

She comes to Gannon University from the State University of New York-College at Geneseo where she had been Director of New Student Programs since 2011. Prior to that position, she had served SUNY Geneseo as assistant director of residence life and coordinator of residential education. She also held positions in the student life offices at the State University of New York at Buffalo and Canisius College, Buffalo.

Harvey's work with bystander intervention programs and transfer student initiatives has been recognized at both the regional and national level.

Harvey received her Bachelor in Science degree in mathematics from the State University of New York at Fredonia, her Master of Science degree in college student personnel administration from Canisius College and expects to receive a Doctorate of Education in educational leadership from the Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester, New York in May.

She is a member of the Association of College Unions International, New York Leadership Educators Consortium, American Personnel College Association, National Orientation Directors Association and the College Student Personnel Association of New York State.
