Gannon University Homecoming Weekend!

Gannon University is welcoming all media to campus this weekend for our various events surrounding our Homecoming weekend.

Media are invited to the following events:

Friday, Oct. 2

* Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni Dinner

Recognizing alumni who have succeeded in their respective fields and made significant contributions to church and/or community. All are invited to this special celebration. This year's honorees are James A. Schaffner, CPA/ABV, CFF, CVA '68, Edward C. Dawson '74, Margaret A. (O'Bryan) Doheny, Ph.D. '70VMC, Larry E. Gioia '04, and receiving the Monsignor Wilfrid J. Nash Principles of Christian Conduct Award, James P. Ahearn '61.

Saturday, Oct. 3

*Homecoming Parade

> Rain or shine, nothing can dampen the spirit at Gannon University's Homecoming Parade. Floats and units from student clubs and organizations will stop in front of Old Main, where there will be a panel of guest judges who will score each group on their performance. It's creativity and enthusiasm literally on parade. The parade begins at Gridley Park, W. Sixth and Liberty streets, and continues east on W. Sixth St. to Old Main. 9 - 11 a.m.


*Gannon vs. Slippery Rock Football

The Gannon Golden Knights enter the game with a 3-1 record while Slippery Rock (3-1) was ranked 25th in the preseason poll and ranked as high as No. 14 after the victory over Millersville. Gannon-Rock is emerging as a spirited PSAC rivalry, and this game promises to be hard-fought. McConnell Family Stadium, 430 Sassafras St., 12 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 4

* Pump-KIN-Run 5K

Gannon's Sport and Exercise Science Club sponsored 5K race through Gannon's campus and downtown Erie to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. 130 W. Fourth St., race time - 8:45 a.m. 

Gannon University Institute for Health and Cyber Knowledge (I-HACK)

Gannon University announces the launch of the Institute for Health and Cyber Knowledge (I-HACK).
