Posted: September 18, 2015

More than 25 local, statewide and federal organizations, agencies and local services will participate in Gannon University's annual Campus Safety Expo on Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Waldron Campus Center, 214 W. Seventh St.

Incoming students, especially those new to Erie, and the entire Gannon community are invited to become more familiar with the wealth of vital community resources available and to learn how to access those services.

Product displays, free samples, giveaways and a variety of take-home tips and bystander intervention strategies will be offered by organizations as large as the U.S. Border Patrol as well as by student organizations on campus.

The event, with the theme Prepare, Protect, Prevent, is offered in recognition of National Campus Safety Awareness Month and presented by Gannon University's campus police and safety department and the Sexual Assault and Violence Education (SAVE) office.

"Gannon makes a priority of the physical, emotional and social safety of each member of our campus community," said Katie Allison, Gannon University prevention/education outreach coordinator. "The Campus Safety Expo aims to maximize our students' experience by equipping them with the knowledge, tools and skills of personal and social safety as well as emergency preparedness."
