Gannon University Announces New Director of International Student Office

Gannon University has named Rose Marie McKain the new Director of the International Student Office. In this capacity, she will be responsible for planning and coordinating all support services and cross-cultural programs that enhance the educational and social experience of Gannon University's internationally-minded students, faculty and staff, as well as their families. She will also be the University's Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for the F-visa Program and the Responsible Officer (RO) for the J-visa Program for Gannon's 900 international students.

McKain has 35 years of experience in international education, including 17 as director of the International Student Affairs Center at Point Park University, Pittsburgh. She comes to Gannon from ECPI University in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she led international student enrollment efforts, including new program marketing and recruitment, traditional and electronic materials and social media development, admissions, and international student support services.

McKain received her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and communications and her Master of Public Policy and Management degree from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) at the University of Pittsburgh. She has been a longtime member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators, which she has served in a number of leadership roles and as a trainer in F-1 immigration and support.
