Gannon University Hosts Annual International Night

Gannon University's annual International Night, a celebration of international food, culture and performances, will take place on Saturday, March 28 at 5:45 p.m. in the Hammermill Center, 620 Peach St. Representatives and Gannon University students from nearly 30 countries will showcase their cultures for guests.

This year's theme is "The World Is Your Canvas" and will be hosted by Gannon's International Student Office (ISO) and the Global Unity at Gannon University club (GU2).

The international food buffet will begin at 6 p.m. and will include dishes from Bangladesh, Brazil, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Nigeria, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the U.S. Virgin Islands and more. The entertainment portion of the event will begin at 7:15 p.m. and will include music, dance performances by Gannon's African Student Organization and Caribbean Culture Club, by students from Erie's Little Dance Studio, several Indian dances, and singers.

"This event has been happening at Gannon for over 25 years," said Rose McKain, ISO director. "I am so impressed by the dedication of the ISO staff and the student members of GU2 who have been working so tirelessly in preparing for this year's extravaganza! I don't think there is a better way to celebrate the deeply rooted global diversity that is such a rich part of the University's tradition, and I extend a special invitation to those who have never previously attended. Come and experience the aromas, tastes, sights and sounds of Gannon's international community, and join all those who return year after year in celebration of deeper universal understanding."

Pre-sale ticket prices are $13.50 for adults, $8.50 for college students, and $6.50 for children 5 years and above and are available here. Prices at the door are $15 for adults, $10 for college students and $8 for children 5 years and above. Children under 5 are free.
