Gannon University Students Celebrate Pi Day With a Party!
Posted: March 13, 2015
At some infinitely small instant between 9:26 and 9:27 on
Saturday, the month, day, year, and time will be exactly
3.141592653 the number known as pi.
The hyper-rational Math Club at Gannon University says, "You
don't want to let this momentous occasion pass you buy without a
party!" So that's what they are planning.
Gannon's Pi Day party will take place at 8 p.m. on Saturday in
the University's Zurn Science Center, 143 W. 7th St., and will
feature pizza (naturally), a pi-themed movie, what David Prier
assistant professor of mathematics, described as "plenty of mathy
games" and, the hope is, actual pies, which attendees are
encouraged to bring.
The public is invited. After all, this is an occasion that
occurs only twice.
