Gannon’s New Alumni Director Excited for the Future

Nancy Bird is Gannon University's new director of alumni services.  She succeeds Cathy Fresch, who is now the University's director of development. A 1988 graduate of Penn State University Bird is no stranger to development and alumni work. She is the former director of constituent relations for Cathedral Preparatory School and Villa Maria Academy, both Erie high schools.

Bird says, "Gannon and Villa Maria College alumni prove to be loyal ambassadors and generous supporters of the University. I am fortunate to be a part of this energy."

Bird is a 1984 graduate of Villa Maria Academy and is excited about the challenges of alumni services at the collegiate level. "Gannon's current leadership is focused on innovation, community service and globalization, offering our students the very best tools to become successful leaders. Our programs and facilities are always changing to meet those goals. The dynamic nature of Gannon's campus makes this a terrific time to share the excitement with our alumni."

Bird lives in Erie with her husband, Fred. The couple has three children, Zachary, Nicholas and Natalie.

Gannon University has over 35,000 alumni worldwide. The Gannon University Alumni Association engages and connects alumni to the University and to one another and promotes volunteer services of alumni in support of the University's Mission and strategic plan.
