Gannon University’s Social Work Club to Host Annual Christmas Dinner

Gannon University's Social Work Club will host its 37th annual
Christmas Dinner from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6.
The event is free and open to the public and will be held in the
Beyer Hall cafeteria, located at 628 Peach St. It is an example of
Gannon University's focus on service and volunteerism, and is
designed to bring holiday cheer to under-privileged Erie residents.
Last year, approximately 700 persons were served.
The Social Work Club raised several hundred dollars for the
event by selling pies donated by club members, faculty and staff of
"This is an opportunity when Gannon University shows how
generous it is, which is amazing. The amount of donations in time,
money and goods is amazing," said Parris Baker, Ph.D., director of
the University's social work program.
Attendees will be treated to a full turkey dinner and will be
able to meet with representatives from local health and human
service agencies. The event will also include a special visit by
Santa Claus for the kids in attendance.
