Gannon to Host International Night

Gannon University's annual International Night, a celebration of international food tasting and cultural performances will occur on Saturday, March 29th in the Hammermill Center, 620 Peach St., as representatives from nearly 30 countries showcase their cultures for guests.

The celebration's theme is "Dance Around the World" and will be hosted by Gannon's International Student Office (ISO) and Global Unity at Gannon University. The international food buffet will begin at 6 p.m. and will include dishes representative of nearly 30 countries including Bangladesh, Ghana, India, Iraq, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Mongolia, Nigeria, Palestine, Peru, Rwandna, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Turkey, the Virgin Islands and more. The entertainment portion of the event will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will include music, dancing and other performances.

"Gannon is a diverse University; a melting pot of cultures" said Judy Van Rheenen, director of the International Student Office. "This event is one of the most well-attended on campus, and our international students are proud to have the chance to showcase their food and talents to the greater community."

A limited number of tickets are still available. Pre-sale tickets for students are $5, college students with ID are admitted for $7 and adults are $12. Children under the age of five are free. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Suzanne Hawryliw at 814-871-7133.
