On February 11, 2009, I co-presented a peer-reviewed oral presentation Framing History: The meaning Parents Ascribe to Bereavement Photographs Received Following perinatal Loss with Gannon nursing
faculty, Dr. Sharon J. Thompson, PhD., RN, MPH [primary author] and Karen Lumia , Msn, RN [co-author] The juried session was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey at the 33rd Annual Women’s Health Conference – Bridging the Culture Gap: Opportunities and Challenges in Women’s Health – sponsored by Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions.
On February 21, 2008, I presented a peer reviewed oral presentation – Folic Acid use in Women of Childbearing age, with Gannon nursing faculty, Dr. Sharon J. Thompson, PhD, RN, MPH [co-author] the juried session was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey at the 32nd annual Women’s Halth Conference . The Challenges of Providing Health Care to Women…Today and tomorrow sponsored by Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions.
In June of 2003, I co-presented a peer reviewed poster presentation – Peer Mentoring: A Learning Experience, with Gannon University faculty, Dr. Suzanne o’Connell, PhD, MSN (primary author). The juried session was held in Philadelphia, Pa. at the Drexel University, Nursing Education conference, sponsored by Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professioners

On October 24, 2007, I presented- Diabetes in Pregnancy – a March of Dimes Nursing Module, during Hamot Perinatal Conference 2007, an all-day conference sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania Division of the March of Dimes and Hamot Health Foundation, and held at the Ambassador Banquet and Conference Center in Erie. Over 85 participants from the tri-state area are expected to attend this session. Each attendee was awarded 7.2 contact hours.
On October 18, 2005, I presented- adolescent Pregnancy – a March of Dimes Nursing Module, during Caring for the High Risk Mother and Neonate, an all-day conference sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania Division of the March of Dimes and Hamot Health Foundation, and held at the Ambassador Banquet and Conference Center in Erie. Over 75 participants from the tri-state area attended this session. Each attendee was awarded 4.4 contact hours.
On October 26, 2005, I presented- Postpartum Care- a March of Dimes Nursing Module, during Caring for the High-Risk Mother and Neonate, an all-day conference sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania Division of the March of Dimes and Hamot Health Foundation, and held at the Ambassador Banquet and Conference Center in Erie. Over 50 participants from the tri-state area attended this session. Each attendee was awarded 6.5 contact hours.
On October 20, 2004, I presented- Preterm Labor: Prevention and Nursing Management – a March of Dimes Nursing Module, during Risky Business: Surviving the Odds, an all-day conference sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania Division of the March of Diems and Hamot Health Foundation, and held at the Ambassador Banquet and Conference Center in Erie. Over 40 participants from the tri-state area attended this session. Each attendee was awarded 4.18 contact hours.
On October 15, 2003, I presented – Cultural Competence in the Care of Childbearing Families- a March of Dimes Nursing Module, during It’s a Matter of “Time”: Reaching Out to ALL Pregnant Women, an all-day conference sponsored by the Northwest Pennsylvania Division of the March of Dimes, Hamot Medical Center, and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Social Work, and held at the Ambassador Banquet and Conference Center in Erie. Over 50 participants from the tri-state area attended this session. Each attendee was awarded 9.84 contact hours.

Over 50 participants from the tri-state area.
On October 16, 2002, I presented – Pregnancy: Psychosocial Perspectives – a March of Dimes Nursing Module, During Substance Abuse: Before Birth and Beyond, an all-day conference sponsored by the Northwest Pennsylvania Division of the March of Dimes and Hamot Medical Center, and held at the Ambassador Banquet and Conference Center in Erie. Over 40 participants from the tri-state area attended this session. Each attendee was awarded 5.0 contact hours.

On May 17, 2005, I presented in Gannon University’s Service learning Workshop. I presented a poster presentation, NUR 101, Nursing as a Profession, which highlighted the created services learning activities in the freshman level seminar course.
In the Fall of 2000 and Spring of 2001, I presented a slide show presentation, - Mission of Friendship, student and faculty experiences at Gannon University Open House for prospective students.
On October 15, 1999, I was a Ethics Panel Member at the Northwestern Pennsylvania Nurse Practitioner Conference, held at the Riverside Hotel in Cambridge Springs, Pa. Over 100 participants from the tri-state area attended this conference.
On April 26, 1996 I presented Primary Care of the Perimenopausal Patient at the Northwestern Pennsylvania Nurse Practitioner conference held at the Riverside Hotel in Cambridge Springs, Pa. Over 100 participants from the tri-state area attended this conference.
During the summer of 1996 and 1997, I presented- Newborn and Postpartum Assessment for the staff nurses at the Visiting Nursing Association of Erie County.
