Biography

Kathleen Kingston began her career in education as an emotional support teacher, a school psychologist, and a public school administrator responsible for special education, mental health services, federal programs, drug and alcohol prevention, and program development. She worked as a public school administrator for 11 years before completing a doctorate and beginning a career in higher education.  She began her higher education career as the Executive Director of Information Technology at Allegheny College before coming to Gannon University as a faculty member and program administrator for graduate programs. She is currently the Associate Director of the School of Education at Gannon University and the Program Director for graduate and post graduate Educational Leadership Programs.  The focus of her research is the preparation of school leaders, organizational leadership, and understanding organizations as learning systems.

Beginning in 2010, she began providing professional development programs to teachers and administrators in the K-12 schools in Jordan and Thailand.  This international experience has brought many opportunities to Gannon students and faculty to participate in service learning trips and study abroad experiences.
