  • April 2012 - Ninth International Conference on Information Technology - New Generations: Dr. Qing Zheng, assistant professor, published a paper entitled “Annotating Resources in Sequence Diagrams for Testing Web Security” in Proceedings of the Ninth International Conference on Information Technology - New Generations, held in Las Vegas, April 16-18. The paper was co-authored by Dr. Weifeng Xu and Lin Deng in the Department of Computer and Information Science at Gannon University. 

    April 2012 –IEEE SAC’12 Conference: Dr. Yong-kyu Jung, assistant professor, participated in the 2012 IEEE Student Activity Conference (SAC’12) held in Columbus, OH, April 27-29, with the president-elect of Gannon’s IEEE student chapter and a group of ECE senior students. 

    April 2012 – US EPA’s National Sustainability Expo: Dr. Wookwon Lee, associate professor, participated in the 2012 National Sustainability Expo as an exhibitor to demonstrate Gannon’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-sponsored design project entitled, “Biomass Energy-Source Generator and Monitoring System.” Dr. Rick Diz, Chair and associate professor, Environmental Science and Engineering (ENV), was also on the team at the Expo booth with four ECE undergraduate students and two students from the ENV department. The Expo was held from April 21 – 23 in the National Mall area of Washington, DC, and open to the general public.

    March/April 2012 - IEEE Potentials: Dr. Qing Zheng, assistant professor, published a paper entitled “Constructing 3D Surface Models for Building Cushion Seats Using Stereo Visions” in IEEE Potentials, pp. 31-37. The paper was co-authored by Dr. Weifeng Xu, Lin Deng, and Dr. Steve Frezza in the Department of Computer and Information Science at Gannon University.

    March 2012 - ASME Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and ControlDr. Qing Zheng, assistant professor, published a paper entitled “On Validation of Extended State Observer through Analysis and Experimentation” in ASME Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, vol. 134, no. 2, pp. 024505.1-024505.6. The paper was co-authored by Dr. Linda Gao of North Central College and Dr. Zhiqiang Gao of Cleveland State University.

    February 2012 – NSF sponsored workshop. Dr. Lin Zhao, assistant professor, attended the NSF-sponsored workshop on “Reforming the Electric Energy Systems Curriculum to be forward-looking with emphasis on Renewables/Storage, Smart Delivery, and Efficient End-Use” held in Napa, CA.
