Orientation

  • Summer Orientation

Get ready for Gannon! In order to help you get ready for college life, our Summer Orientation program will give you a chance to check out everything ahead of time.

Gannon University will hold four summer orientation sessions for new freshmen and their parents. Each two-day session provides participants with an excellent opportunity to experience what it is like to become part of the Gannon community and to gain firsthand knowledge of college life.

At orientation you will connect with fellow classmates and returning students who serve as orientation leaders; learn about the policies, procedures, services and resources of the university; meet with faculty and administrators; finalize your fall schedule; and take care of any unfinished business. The summer orientation program will provide you with plenty of individual attention and the answers to any questions you may have about starting your first-year experience at Gannon.

  • Spring Orientation

New students who will begin classes at Gannon University in January will be invited to attend the Spring Welcome program. This event will include an official welcome ceremony designed to acknowledge the beginning of your college experience.

The event is for both students and their parents and provides an opportunity to meet University administrators and other new students.

Following a brief ceremony recognizing our new students, orientation materials will be distributed and discussed. This information will familiarize students with Gannon’s facilities, procedures, support services, resources, and social activities.

Information regarding this program along with reservation materials will be mailed to new students in December.

  • Transfer Orientation

The Transfer Student Orientation program is designed to answer all of your questions or concerns regarding transferring to Gannon. There will be brief presentations by several of the support services offices.

You will also be able to meet with a department representative to discuss the transfer of credits and a Fall course schedule and register for classes. In addition, you can meet with a Financial Aid Officer and tour our campus and housing facilities.

This one-day program will provide you the opportunity to meet other new transfer students and learn more about Gannon’s many services and resources.
