Mrs. Kanter, a former classroom teacher, began her career as an Educational Specialist for Students with Learning Disabilities (PSLD) in 1987. She also was an Instructor for Gannon University's School of Education. Jane has a B.A. in Sociology, a Pennsylvania Certification in Education and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. She is a charter member of Phi Zeta, Gannon University's professional Educational Society, a chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education. She is a former member of the Board of Directors for ChADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder) of Erie County.

Mrs. Guy has a B.A. degree in Education and English from Houghton College, an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Gannon University and an M.Div., equ. from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. She provided counseling services for the Commonwealth Academic Achievement Program (CAAP) for seven years before accepting the position of Learning Specialist with the Program for Students with Learning Disabilities (PSLD) in 1991. Since she joined the Gannon community, she has taught several courses in writing, mental health and speech. In addition to her role as Assistant Director for the PSLD, she also serves as Director for the Speech Communication Center and teaches Fundamentals of Speech classes.

Dr. Kanter, a former professor of special education and psychology at the University of Houston and Lamar University, has over 25 years of college-level teaching. He earned his B.A. degree in Psychology from University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Special Education, with a Minor in Psychology, from the University of Texas at Austin. He was the founder of the educational consulting firm, located in Houston, Educational Management Associates, before he relocated to Pennsylvania in 1998. He has extensive background in psychology as applied to education. Currently he is a member of the Association of Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD).
