Qualified students can gain conditionally guaranteed acceptance as
early as senior year of high school

Successful students will preferably earn a B.S. in biology from
Gannon University prior to matriculating to LECOM
Liberal Studies Core
The Liberal Studies Core Curriculum is one reflection of Gannon University's commitment to
its Catholic identity. The Core's design offers students a defined, integrated, shared
experience as the foundation for their undergraduate program.
Gannon University Undergraduate Entry Requirements
- Achieve a minimum SAT score of 1170 or higher in critical
reading and math or ACT composite score of 26 or higher

Achieve a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or higher on a
4.0 scale

Provide evidence of scholarly, professional and personal potential,
and a desire to become a dentist

Submit a personal statement or essay
-
Successfully complete an interview with LECOM

Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Complete a signed release form (provided after acceptance is
granted)
Admissions Process
Students should apply early. The first five competitive,
eligible and complete applications will be guaranteed acceptance.
Additional students may be considered on an individual basis and at
the discretion of LECOM. Guaranteed acceptance for the first five
eligible students will not be granted until all requirements listed
below have been satisfied. Once offered acceptance, students will
be given two weeks to pay the enrollment deposit to reserve their
space in the program. If the deadline passes without a deposit, the
space will be offered to another student.
Students who wish to be considered for the LECOM affiliation
program with Gannon University must:

On the LECOM enrollment form, list Gannon University as one of the
top three schools you are interested in attending

Successfully complete an interview with LECOM

Successfully apply to and be admitted to Gannon University's LECOM
Early Acceptance Dental Program
Affiliate Entry Requirements
Students will be provided with a complete electronic copy of
all requirements for successful completion of the 4+4 Early
Acceptance Program with LECOM upon entry to the program. A sample
of entry requirements to Phase II includes:

Maintain a minimum cumulative overall GPA or 3.0 at the end of each
term in all years prior to the year of matriculation at the LECOM
School of Dental Medicine

Achieve a minimum overall GPA of 3.4 or higher at the time of
application
-
Achieve a minimum science GPA of 3.2 or higher at the time of
application
-
Successfully complete the Dental Admission Test (DAT) with a
competitive score (typically ≥ 16)
-
Shadowing approximately 100 hours or more in a clinical dental
setting is highly recommended
-
Apply to LECOM School of Dental Medicine through AADSAS by November
15 of the year preceding the year the student plans to matriculate
at LECOM and complete all related application materials in an
efficient manner

Successfully complete a criminal background check

Meet and agree to LECOM's Health and Technical Standards

Students admitted to this program cannot apply to any other dental
schools
